About Moles:
We have one species of mole in the UK (European / common mole).It lives between 4 to 6 years. The males are bucks, the females are does and young are pups. Weighs 110 – 120 grams ( ¼ of a lb) and 150mm long ( 6 inches ) Is not totally blind, but has poor eyesight can only detect light. Its diet is based on earthworms, but it also eats insects and grubs. Breeding takes place around Feb to June.

The female mole gives birth to 3 to 6 pups each yea. At two months, the pups start digging by themselves. They do not hibernate they are active throughout the year.They can hear, but uses vibration to find worms,. . A mole can create up to 20 metres of tunnels each day. A mole can shift around 6 kilos (13lbs) of soil every 20 minutes. . It has to eat 80% of its body weight per day.

Mole Control:
Due to exceptionally wet and mild winters, the mole population has been increasing across the UK in recent years hence the need for mole control using the latest trapping techniques
